The flowers fade and the cake gets eaten, but the photos stay. Choosing who takes them is worth a bit of time.
Anyone can pick twenty great photos. Ask to see two or three complete galleries from real weddings, ideally at venues like yours and in similar light, so you can see what a whole day looks like.
Meet up or have a video call. You'll spend the whole day with this person, so it matters that you get on, and that they listen to what you want.
Exactly what's included and for how many hours, roughly how many photos you'll get and when, the deposit and when the rest is due, and what happens if either of you has to cancel. Many venues also ask suppliers for public liability insurance, so ask if they have it.
Popular dates go a long time ahead, often a year or more for summer Saturdays, so start looking as soon as you have a date and a venue.
Every photographer in our wedding photographers list has at least 4.7 stars on Google from 25 or more reviews.
